Dj Manu Le Malin* - Memory

So, the word is Thomas Bangalter co-produced this track. It does sound very acid like, which is what Daft Punk did preform mostly back in 96 97, so it kind of makes sense. Also, draft ponk?

Miami (the horror, the horror)

In the new world of remixedom, their are not too many remix 'artists' that I dig. But, Miami horror on the other hand always does a song justice.

Kiyoshionline

Kiyoshionline is Kiyoshi, Kiyoshi is Kioyoshionline.

The guy is a collector of music, that's certain, naturally a DJ also, and hater of hip-hop. Hopefully you have stopped reading this and you are looking at his site now...seriously.

Chris Andrews

Chris Andrews is probably now best known for his big hit, “Yesterday Man”. Many of us will also recall him as the songwriter responsible for many of Sandie Shaw’s most successful recordings. Despite those activities, Chris’s musical credentials go back much further- into the 1950s and even included an appearance on Jack Good’s legendary Rock & Roll TV Show, “Oh Boy!”.

So...Hit this!

Smells Like Teen Spirit (White Label)

I love white label releases, and this is one of my favorites. Perhaps I should post a white label every Friday? Let me know!

Smells Like Teen Spirit

MSTRKRFT

Just so you don't keep reading, this is not, I repeat NOT a leak of 'Fist Of God.' The following in an internal e-mail at Dim Mak, adressing the leak of 'Fist Of God.'

"Hey guys, we spoke with the band today and heard someone who got a very early promo version of the album thought it would be genius to leak it on the internet. We are fully aware that is probably all over BitTorrent, Waffles, etc already and many of you may already have it.

Please do us a favor and do not post any records from the album on your blogs quite yet. These are the wishes of not only us at Dim Mak but of MSTRKRFT and their management. I trust many of you have already decided to do the right thing and that is really really awesome...however that still leaves some of you on this email list I have already seen post up new records from them in an effort to get some more hits to your site. The album doesn't come out until over a month from now...please do the right thing honestly. When we get closer to the album date we are gonna release some records to you anyways.

DISCLAIMER: IF you leak the record or any songs from Fist of God on your blog, the next email you get will not be from us. It will be from Blogger (Google), or for Wordpress users, from your host provider and it will be regarding suspending your account for copyright infringement. We don't want to be the internet police but don't make this worse on everyone especially the band...we are trying to be upbeat about the album release and this is genuinely tough news to hear. Thank you

Any concerns please email me back. Thanks!"

Interesting, and for those of you who do have a leak of 'Fist Of God,' please leave comments about the album.

How do ya like it?

Len, Toronto based band sampled Andrea True's song 'more more more' a while back with catchy results. Check out Len's Version here and Adrea's original here.

Whats fascinating is Andrea's back story of the recording of the song 'more more more.'

During her heyday as a porn actress, True was hired by a real estate business on the Caribbean island of Jamaica to appear in their commercial ads. During her stay, a political crisis gripped the island and no one was allowed to leave with any money. Not wanting to lose her hard-earned money, True asked her friend, record producer Gregg Diamond to travel to the island and produce a track for her, which she would finance locally. Diamond arrived with a composition in hand, to which True added lyrics. The result of their collaboration was the now disco classic "More, More, More".

Judgment is coming

Buck65 used this wonderful old tune on his strong arm mixtape (I'm gonna make you find that one), he sped it up a little and when I heard the original, I knew it right away. Thanks Buck thanks Alex Kennedy (don't worry, you don't know him) and thanks Rev.

Here is your judgement!

Also.
Das Glow is a fantastic artist. He is on the institubes label, for which he greats sublime electro for. Also, he has a blog called Futurella that he posts mainly photo's on, good stuff.

2 Many Dj's Rob Da Bank

Basically this set is astonishing, astonishing. I put the track list on the file, just look in the comment section when you open this one up in your itunes. The intro section is nuts, it's about 5 seconds of each song for about an hour, then it get disco like.

Hit it!!!

It's like this folks. Wavves is a band that you were in when you were in high school, except, these guys actually stuck with it. Sorry. Actually, I was really never in a band 'officially' I just was the muscle for some of the shows, and screamed a bit. Somewhere out there, a guy has a vague memory of some other dude, 6"2 285 lbs coming at him and breaking his nose. That's kind of what this music is like, but with a bit of psychedelica and Joy Division bass lines. I even hear some country elements, though they would probably hate hearing that.

Hit up the song "no hope kids," if you dare.

The Darcys

Okay, so I just missed The Darcy’s play at the Horseshoe Tavern here in Toronto, but for a good reason, and for good times. So I guess it’s pretty cool to come to the realization that no matter where I am, it’s always a good time (right?). The Darcy’s seem to be involved in that whole pilgrimage of Nova Scotian (?) peoples to Toronto, thing, that has over come Toronto, or perhaps just overcoming to me? It seems that everyone I meet are from the rock and they like to rock out, or at least, get a little funky from time to time. The Darcy’s are no exception. They are defiantly indie rock, sometimes soft, like a really nice comfortable sweater that you have hung on to from a former lover, just to torture yourself with. Or, sometimes The Darcy’s just want you to have a good time, a good ole time.

These guys go under some new, and newer or newerwer sub genre’s of sub genre’s and styles of music like; 8-bit, chiptune, gwfo, my band, nice, nintendocore, post-punk, as according to LastFM anyway. I do agree with the nintendocore post punk bit, but honestly they remind me of Atari Teenage Riot’s album ‘Burn Berlin Burn.’ But, oh well, whatever, never mind.

XOXOXO
